Is there a regulatory body for aromatherapy in the UK?

Ive just started a course and need to research aromatherapy. One of the topics to cover is regulations and obligations….. Does anyone who in the UK if there is a regulatory body or legal requirements… There are a few associations online but I cant work out if they are official or just self-regulatory…

Yes the main body is called the IFPA, International Federation of Professional Aromatherapists. They are official.

This is a conglomeration of what used to be the IFA – International federation of aromatherapists, the international society of professional aromatherapists and RQA who are therapists who have been qualified at the Tisserand School.
To become an accredited member you have to have studied one of their recognised courses in aromatherapy, chemistry of essential oils, anatomy and physiology and also massage.
There is an annual membership to be paid but also by law you have to have private indemnity and public liability insurances.
