
What is aromatherapy work?
Smell is the ability to perceive odors in our environment. A smell can rekindle a memory, give us a sense, remember a person, place or thing, or even improve your mood. Therefore Aromatherapy has been introduced as an alternative medicine to be used with or without other modalities to improve both psychological and physical benefits of the body. Aromatherapy uses aromatic essences and natural oils extracted from plants such as flowers, bark, stems and leaves to improve the physical and emotional health, and restore the balance of the whole person. Essential oils can benefit the mind, mood, function cognitive and general health.
Aromatherapy has been around for thousands of years dating back to antiquity. dried plant material oil and fat infusion, heated and then filtered. In addition to the strong smell, the oils are considered to have curative medicinal properties. This is not entirely wrong about everything because some of the Essential oils used today are antibacterial, antiviral and antifungal. During the time of the Crusades essential oils were distilled and used as medicine. The Crusades are what are believed to have left the essential oils from India, China and Egypt to the west. In the 16 and 17 centuries aromatherapy has become popular among European herbalists. In 1907, scientists and doctors have begun to study components of essential oils and determination of the chemistry of individual plants. In 1937, a French book that was written on aromatherapy and World War II, Dr. Jean Valnet essential oils used as an antiseptic to treat wounded soldiers. In 1950, Marguerite Maury, a beautician Austria has introduced essential oils in her practice of massage therapy. Then, set up clinics Aromatherapy for the first time in Britain, France and Switzerland.
Aromatherapy is a natural, non-invasive treatment designed to affect the whole body and person. The art and science of aromatherapy involves not only the smell of vegetable oils to treat specific body and mind, but the application of oils essential for the skin, the oil can be absorbed into the bloodstream to alter body chemistry, the support systems of the body and improve mood and emotion. This is why aromatherapy is not just treating a symptom or a disease, the state helps the body's natural ability to balance, regulate and maintain health. aromatherapy together to promote health of body and mind.
Essential oils can be used in three different modes of transmission to air, direct inhalation and topical application. When used in combination with other therapeutic modalities possible increases. air diffusion strengthens the scent of environment, while also disinfecting the air. direct inhalation of works for the disinfection of the respiratory tract, reducing congestion, allowing sputum, and improve psychological mood, energy and spirit. The advantages of direct inhalation include stimulation of the function cerebral, challenging, stimulating the immune system, relaxation and improved mood. Topical application can be done by massage, baths, compresses, and therapeutic skin care. With this method, the patient may see a reduction in stress and pain while promoting circulation and restore balance.
Despite the effectiveness of aromatherapy has not been scientifically tested are herbalists, aroma therapists and massage therapists have used for a long time with their patients. The benefits that patients showed pain relief, reduced anxiety, improved energy, increased short-term memory, relaxation, prevention of hair loss, itching reduced by improving the clarity of mind and mood. Aromatherapy benefits the whole person rather treat a symptom or a disease. The mechanism behind aromatherapy is not fully understood, however, the influence of aromas in the brain, especially in the system limbic through the olfactory system is known to produce the desired benefits. Furthermore, elements essential oils (naturally occurring chemicals) have positive effects on the body. When used properly the scent is subtle, but effective.
